New Regulatory Framework Consultation Response Published

GLAI has published its formal response to the government’s consultation on a new regulatory framework for the gaming sector.

The response addresses proposed changes to licensing conditions, responsible gaming requirements, and compliance obligations, advocating for evidence-based policy that balances player protection with operational viability.

The association has submitted detailed observations to the Department’s review of licensing procedures, emphasising the importance of clear, consistent, and proportionate regulatory frameworks.

Our submission highlights member experiences with current licensing processes and proposes improvements to enhance transparency, reduce administrative burden, and ensure timely decision-making while maintaining robust oversight.

GLAI continues to engage constructively with all relevant government departments and regulatory bodies to ensure member perspectives are heard and that licensing frameworks remain fit for purpose in a changing regulatory environment.
